The options available in this Ribbon section are pulled from built-in Excel functionality for the purpose of easier report creation.

Formatting Options

Option NameFunction
Center Across SelectionCenter Across Selection allows users the ability to highlight a range of cells and allow the text within the cells to be centered across that range. This is generally preferred over Merge Cells because it doesn't interfere with keyboard navigation around the Excel files.
Remove DropdownRemoves a cell's dropdown and allows a user to enter any value.
Data ValidationRestricts the type of data or values that a user can enter in a cell, such as the dropdown options available within the Data Retrieval section of the Finsyte ribbon. Learn more at Microsoft Support (opens in new tab).
Format PainterApply formatting found in one cell or region to another. Also located on the Home ribbon. Learn more at Microsoft Support (opens in new tab)
ClearDelete everything in the cell or remove the formatting, contents, comments, or hyperlinks specifically. Also located on the Home ribbon.
BorderApply borders to cells. Also located on the Home ribbon.

Font ColorChange the color of your text. Also located on the Home ribbon.
Focus CellHighlights the column and row of the active cell you're working in. Also located on the View ribbon.
Conditional FormattingEasily format cells based on certain criterion defined within Conditional Formatting highlight rules. Also located on the Home ribbon. Learn more at Microsoft Support (opens in new tab).
Cell StylesColorful pre-formatted styles and Finsyte-specific styles are accessible to apply to content on your sheets. Learn more about the Finsyte style options.
