Screen recording in Excel with on-screen captions. Caption 1: Insert a Bulk Records sheet. On the Finsyte ribbon, Record Edit › Bulk Records lists the saved templates by record type, and Opportunities inserts an Opportunities sheet with body field columns and item line columns. Caption 2: Download the records you need. Start is set to 6/1/2025 and End to 7/31/2025 to filter on expected close date, and Download Opportunities fills the sheet with 7 opportunities and their 10 item lines. Caption 3: Edit them in Excel. Item quantities are changed on three opportunities: SAF200 from 20 to 15, Welding Regulator Gauge from 5 to 3 and 25 HP Rotary Vacuum Pump from 2 to 1. Caption 4: Upload the changes. Add/Edit Opportunities sends the sheet to NetSuite. Caption 5: Each row links to its record in NetSuite. The three changed opportunities show Updated Opportunity links and the amounts NetSuite recalculated, 6,900, 3,117.6 and 15,196; the other rows read Skipped (no changes).
Financial transactions in bulk, from Excel
Cash application, deposits, card charges and expense reports pile up at month end, and most of them already live in a spreadsheet or a bank export. Bulk Records lets you prepare them in Excel and upload them to NetSuite as one batch. Formulas can match receipts to open invoices or code card charges before anything posts, and only the records you changed are sent.
Apply customer and vendor payments
Customer payments, vendor payments and their applications carry apply lines, so a payment and the documents it settles go up together.
Record deposits, refunds and prepayments
Enter deposits, customer deposits, customer refunds and vendor prepayments from your bank or remittance data, with formulas doing the matching.
Load expense reports and card charges
Upload expense reports with their expense lines, and credit card charges and refunds with their item lines, straight from the statement export.
Import time
Create time bills and timesheets from a time-tracking export, one row per entry.

Instead of a CSV import
Record payments, deposits and other financial transactions without exporting, editing and re-importing a CSV. Once a record is uploaded, its row links straight to that record in NetSuite, so checking it takes one click.
Bulk Records: a simpler alternative to CSV importsFinancial transactions in Bulk Records: FAQ
- QCan I import customer payments into NetSuite from Excel?
- Yes. Add each payment with the invoices it applies to and upload. Bulk Records creates the payments in NetSuite and flags any value NetSuite rejects on its cell.
- QCan I import time entries?
- Yes. Time bills and timesheets are supported record types, so time can be created from a sheet in bulk.
- QCan I import credit card charges from a statement?
- Yes. Paste the statement export into a Credit Card Charge sheet, code each charge with formulas or a mapping table, and upload. Each charge carries its item lines.
- QWhat happens when NetSuite rejects a payment or deposit?
- The error is placed on the row and cell that caused it, with the message as a cell note. Fix the value and upload again.
- QHow is this different from the Journal Entry template?
- The Journal Entry template is built for preparing and posting individual entries, with an Out of Balance check and a Review link. Bulk Records handles many records at once, with a sheet for each record type, journal entries included.
- QDo journal entries still need to balance?
- Yes. Journal entries and intercompany journal entries must balance in Bulk Records as they do in NetSuite.
