Screen recording in Excel with on-screen captions. Caption 1: Insert a Bulk Records sheet. On the Finsyte ribbon, Record Edit › Bulk Records lists the saved templates by record type, and Opportunities inserts an Opportunities sheet with body field columns and item line columns. Caption 2: Download the records you need. Start is set to 6/1/2025 and End to 7/31/2025 to filter on expected close date, and Download Opportunities fills the sheet with 7 opportunities and their 10 item lines. Caption 3: Edit them in Excel. Item quantities are changed on three opportunities: SAF200 from 20 to 15, Welding Regulator Gauge from 5 to 3 and 25 HP Rotary Vacuum Pump from 2 to 1. Caption 4: Upload the changes. Add/Edit Opportunities sends the sheet to NetSuite. Caption 5: Each row links to its record in NetSuite. The three changed opportunities show Updated Opportunity links and the amounts NetSuite recalculated, 6,900, 3,117.6 and 15,196; the other rows read Skipped (no changes).
Sales and billing in bulk, from Excel
Sales transactions often arrive in batches: an order file from a customer, a month of usage to bill, a set of credit memos to issue. Bulk Records puts each transaction and its item lines in an Excel sheet, so you can enter or correct them in bulk and upload them together. Excel formulas can price, map or split the rows first, and each line keeps its Line ID once it is in NetSuite.
Enter a batch of sales orders
Add each order with its item lines, using formulas to price or map the rows from the file you received, and upload the batch. Each line gets a Line ID once it is in NetSuite.
Invoice from sales orders
Name the sales order in Created From and Bulk Records creates the invoice from it the way NetSuite does, matching each row to an order line. Cash sales and return authorizations can be created from orders the same way.
Issue credit memos
Create credit memos from invoices or return authorizations, or enter them on their own, with the lines and amounts from your worksheet.
Adjust billing and subscriptions
Update billing schedules and billing accounts, and create or change subscriptions, subscription lines, change orders and usage records in bulk.

Instead of a CSV import
Enter and correct sales transactions with their lines without exporting, editing and re-importing a CSV. Once a record is uploaded, its row links straight to that record in NetSuite, so checking it takes one click.
Bulk Records: a simpler alternative to CSV importsSales and billing in Bulk Records: FAQ
- QCan I import sales orders into NetSuite from Excel?
- Yes. Add each order and its item lines as new rows and upload. Bulk Records creates the orders in NetSuite and flags any value NetSuite rejects on its cell.
- QCan I create invoices from existing sales orders?
- Yes. Name the sales order in Created From on a new invoice row, and the invoice is created from the order with its lines matched to the order’s lines. A row that can’t be matched is held back with the reason on its cell.
- QHow are item lines handled when I edit an order?
- Each line carries a Line ID. A row with a Line ID updates that line, a row without one adds a line, and a line whose ID is on no row is removed from the transaction.
- QWhat happens when NetSuite rejects a row?
- The error is placed on the row and cell that caused it, with the message as a cell note. Fix the value and upload again.
- QCan I record subscription usage in bulk?
- Yes. Usage is one of the supported record types, so usage records can be created from a sheet and uploaded together.
