Bulk Records: Customers and Vendors

Import and Update NetSuite Customers and Vendors from Excel

Create and update NetSuite customers, vendors, contacts, employees and CRM records from Excel, in bulk.

What Teams Do With It

Customers, vendors and CRM in bulk, from Excel

Master data drifts. Terms change, sales reps move, contact details go stale, and a new subsidiary arrives with a list of vendors to load. Bulk Records puts these records in an Excel sheet, one row per record with the fields your template includes, so you can review and change them in bulk and upload the result to NetSuite. Custom fields come along as columns, and a row that NetSuite rejects carries the reason as a note on the cell that caused it.

  • Update terms, reps and categories

Download the customers you need, change payment terms, sales rep or category with a fill-down or a lookup table, and upload. Only the records you changed are sent.

  • Load vendors for a new subsidiary

Paste the vendor list into the sheet as new rows. Rows without an Internal ID are created as new vendors, and anything NetSuite rejects is noted on the cell that caused it.

  • Keep addresses and contacts current

Customer addresses come down as address book lines, one row per address, so you can correct or add them in place. Contacts and their details update the same way.

  • Log CRM activity in bulk

Create or update tasks, phone calls, events, campaign responses and support cases from a sheet, for example after a trade show or a calling campaign.

Instead of a CSV import

Update customer, vendor and contact records without exporting, editing and re-importing a CSV: download them, change them in Excel and upload. Once a record is uploaded, its row links straight to that record in NetSuite, so checking it takes one click.

Questions?

Customers, vendors and CRM in Bulk Records: FAQ

Q
Can I import customers into NetSuite from Excel?
Yes. Add a row for each new customer, leaving Internal ID blank, and upload. Bulk Records creates the customers in NetSuite and flags any value NetSuite rejects on its cell.
Q
Can I update existing vendors in bulk?
Yes. Download the vendors you want to change, edit them in the sheet and upload. A row with an Internal ID updates that vendor, and only changed records are sent.
Q
Are custom fields included?
Yes. Templates can include your custom fields as columns, so they download and upload with the rest of the record.
Q
Can I update customer addresses?
Yes. Customer addresses download as address book lines, one row per address. Edit a row to change that address, or add a row to add one.
Q
Which CRM records are supported?
Tasks, phone calls, calendar events, campaigns, campaign responses, support cases, issues, topics, email templates, messages, competitors and project tasks.
